Activities

As a hospital board member, you primarily focus on employment conditions at UMCs. You:

  • Represents PNN in discussions with local graduate schools, the NFU (Netherlands Union for Unions for Work and Income) and the unions CNV and FNV.
  • Ensures that sufficient attention is paid to the approximately 4,000 UMC PhD candidates (OIOs and AIOs) within the PNN board and among other stakeholders.
  • Leads the National Consultation of UMC PhD Candidates (LOUP), in which local PhD organizations from the 7 Dutch UMCs discuss bottlenecks and ideas for improvement.

What do we ask of you?

  • You are a PhD candidate at a Dutch university medical center. Because we seek variety, we prefer PhD candidates from the UMCG, LUMC, Radboud University Medical Center, or Erasmus University Rotterdam.
  • You have strong communication skills, enjoy working together and are motivated to improve the employment conditions for UMC PhD candidates.
  • You dare to take the lead and know how to inspire people
  • You are available on average 8-12 hours per week (with flexibility during busy periods).
  • You speak and write good Dutch and English.

During the summer months of July and August, we'll begin training you, outside of your and our holidays. You'll take over the work starting September 1st.

The official installation will take place on Friday, September 19th, during the general members' meeting. We'll also be hosting the handover weekend on September 19th and 20th, which we'd appreciate you attending. If you can't make it, please let us know, and we'll try to find a solution.
