Event: Symposium Profkip – A Conversation About PhD Supervision

How do we guarantee better supervision and reduce work pressure in academia? On May 18th, The Young Academy is hosting a critical symposium at the KNAW Trippenhuis to discuss exactly this.

The event will tackle the heavy workload placed on supervisors and its direct impact on PhD candidates. Key discussion points include recognizing PhD supervision as a core academic task, improving the grant system, and introducing a limes promovendi (a maximum cap on PhD candidates per supervisor). As this directly affects our daily working conditions, we highly encourage PNN members to attend and join the debate.
